As we face an unprecedented, escalating international crisis, Alliance Solutions Group (ASG) is continuing to provide environmental, health, safety, and emergency management solutions to our customers and care for our team members affected by this crisis. In our Crisis Leadership and Decision-Making course that we developed for FEMA and delivered nationwide over the last 3 years, we define a crisis as “the point during an incident where crucial decisions can either lead to recovery or turn into a disaster.”
The greatest challenge that decision makers of all types are facing right now is determining how best to utilize somewhat reliable and constantly evolving information, analyze alternatives, and project the impact those alternatives will have on outcomes across multiple domains, and then somehow make good decisions as uncertainty continues to escalate. We understand that navigating this uncertain environment can be very challenging for all organizations. Nonetheless, ASG has been preparing communities and organizations for emergencies and crises like these since our inception.
Our vision is to see communities prepared with innovative solutions and backed with lasting relationships. So far, we have served over 2,000 communities while repeatedly serving over 97% of our customers. However, our greatest strength has been our ability to innovate new solutions for our customers in times of change. As businesses and government agencies reorient themselves to the new normal of COVID-19, social distancing, and virtual offices, we will be partnering with our clients to introduce innovative products and services to help them recover quickly and enhance their resiliency. Over the last 15 years, we have been operating in a virtual office environment and have employed a workforce in 22 states and 2 foreign countries. Likewise, we have served clients in 48 states and 17 countries, sometimes even delivering services without physical presence with our customers. This is not new to us. We are continuing our operations and services without interruption. We have the experience and management systems in place to do this well. As I record this video, we are simultaneously undergoing our 6th recertification audit for our integrated quality, environment, health and safety management system, all virtually.
While in some ways, our business model has not changed as a result of this crisis, our operating environment is changing significantly. This can be daunting period of time for many, but also an exciting time as we find new and better ways to help our clients achieve their mission. I look forward to partnering with many new clients in rising to the challenge as we shape the new normal for how organizations address environmental protection, workplace health, and safety and preparedness.
I want to close by sharing a word of encouragement that comes from the apostle Paul who wrote a letter to the early church in Rome as they faced persecution.
He wrote, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Rom 12:12).
During this trying time will require us to be patient, but we should also celebrate success and hope as this may seem sparse in the coming weeks, and finally, please join me in praying for our government leaders and communities affected by this crisis.
